JULY 2026 MONTHLY BLOG
By Laura Hunnewell
Just as some of us naturally require more or less sleep, we all have completely different desires and capacities when it comes to our skincare rituals.
Take my 81-year-old mother, for example. She absolutely loves her monthly dermaplaning facial and is dedicated to caring for her skin—but the moment she is on my facial bed, she is ready to move. (I often hear a, “Are we done yet?”).
We never need to compromise on quality or the integrity of our results just because a client doesn’t have a full hour to give, or because they choose an express option. A shorter window is simply a different kind of magic.
Setting the Scene for a Quick Escape
Even if a service is only 30 minutes, the environment should still feel blissful and grounding. Think of it as a rapid reset for the client’s day. Incorporate your signature personal touches to the room—whether that is a calming aroma, a grounding crystal nearby, or the softest linens—to ensure they feel comfortable and pampered, even while you have one eye on the clock.
Get creative with your time and space. Read books about the power of disconnecting and what even 30 minutes of intentional quiet can do to restore a person’s spirit. When we understand how profound a brief pause can be, we can channel that directly into our care.
Every client brings a different personality, and a distinct set of skin needs to the table. Our training team at Hale and Hush mirrors this, and I wanted to take a moment this month to share a few things we do. I have included some examples of how our team members showcase their short services—check them out below to get some inspiration for your own menu!
Laura’s Take: LED Express Facials
I love offering a 20-minute LED express facial with a targeted moisture mask and a nice eye massage at the very end to gently wake the client. It combines a peaceful power nap with advanced cell regeneration, and a radiant pick-me-up.
Melissa’s Take: Maintenance
The “Skin Bar” facial for 30 minutes. This focuses on a thorough double cleanse, a polished enzyme or exfoliating mask, and nutrient-dense finishing products for pure skin maintenance and barrier protection.
Shirley’s Take: 30-Minute Facial Massage
A 30-minute service dedicated to relaxation and touch. This flow moves through a soothing cleanse, a relaxing facial massage, a nourishing mask, and concludes with hydration and SPF to send them back out into the world protected, calm and hydrated.
Tatiana’s Take: The Refresh Ritual
A beautiful 30-minute treatment that begins with an uplifting rosemary cleanse to awaken the skin and the senses and incorporates her favorite facial oils for a refreshing experience. This sensory-driven ritual focuses on nourishing the skin barrier, leaving the complexion beautifully radiant and the spirit revived.
Integrating these treatments into your menu is a super way to encourage consistent, monthly rituals. They offer clients an accessible, nurturing dose of care that fits effortlessly into their routine—making them the perfect, organic recommendation to pass along to friends.
A speedy facial isn’t rushing things; it’s about adapting. It honors the need for a brief pause—offering a quiet sanctuary in the beginning, middle or end of a busy day to care for both the skin and the self.
“Almost anything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you.”
